3.5.1 S1 - General public
General public refers to the individuals in a given population that in this case are (positively or negatively) impacted by the activities of an infrastructure asset. Impacts could be a function of proximity to an operating asset (individuals living near roads and airports are exposed to noise and air pollution from the assets, individuals exposed to water from a water supply contaminated by discharge from a sewage treatment plant), connectivity because of an asset (highways connecting small towns to cities enabling commute to urban workplaces and providing access to education and healthcare) or location (resettlement required when building dams).
