Why do you consider floods, storms, and cyclones?

Answer

According to the UNDRR (UN Office for Disaster Risk Reduction), floods and storms were the most common types of climate-related events accounting for approximately 44% and 28% of all climate-related events from 2000 to 2019. Furthermore, UNDRR reported that flood events have more than doubled while that of storms grew by 40% in the same period.

Additionally, the field of research regarding damage functions is currently concentrated around floods, storms, and cyclones. We are looking to expand the scope to cover more physical risks in the future. For example, we’re currently working on heat stress.
